Employer/Client: Payments orchestration platform (Fintech product)
Location: Porto, Portugal (Hybrid, 3 days in the office per week)

What is our client looking for?

Our client, a leading company in the fintech and payment orchestration space, is searching for a QA Engineer to play a crucial role in the testing and validation of payment orchestration software. A Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products related to payment orchestration. They are responsible for identifying defects, validating software functionality, and upholding defined quality standards. QA Engineers utilise a combination of manual/automation testing techniques and tools to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and security of payment operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Independently create comprehensive test plans to ensure consistent testing coverage.
  2. Design exhaustive test cases, including edge cases and stress conditions.
  3. Act as end-users, assessing usability and identifying issues.
  4. Maintain close communication with development teams, facilitating issue resolution.
  5. Employ specialised tools to test software for vulnerabilities.
  6. Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate new knowledge into their testing.
  7. Monitor user feedback and error reports to enhance software quality continuously.
  8. Mentor team members on coding standards, test design, and automation techniques.
  9. Be on standby to respond promptly to issues, calls, and other system-related matters as they arise. Work closely with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues with agility.

Who you are:

  1. A dedicated QA Engineer passionate about ensuring software quality, security, and reliability.
  2. Detail-oriented and meticulous in test planning, execution, and defect documentation.
  3. Comfortable working with manual and automated testing methodologies.
  4. A proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative development environment.
  5. Eager to learn, adapt, and stay up to date with the latest testing tools and industry trends.
  6. Strong communicator, fluent in English, capable of bridging technical and non-technical discussions.
  7. Process-driven and enjoys problem-solving in a structured, methodical way.
  8. Motivated to improve software quality continuously and provide valuable feedback for enhancements.
  9. Experience with GitLab CI, MongoDB.
  10. Extensive knowledge of API testing approaches.
  11. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  12. Background in fast-growth scaleup environments.
  13. Experience in paytech or payment orchestration.
  14. Strong process-oriented mindset and problem-solving skills.
  15. Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of testing initiatives.
  16. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  17. Security testing knowledge, including vulnerability assessments.
  18. Performance and load testing experience.
  19. Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
