David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a leading travel management, corporate card and expense management company that is looking to recruit a German-speaking Senior Business Travel Consultant to join their team in Portugal.

Position: Senior Business Travel Consultant

Location: remote, Portugal or hybrid, Lisbon (candidate's discretion)

Employment type: Full-time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide high-quality support to customers through various channels, including chat, calls, and emails.
  2. Keep up-to-date with relevant information on service providers, destinations, and systems.
  3. Assess customer needs, urgency, and preferences quickly and effectively.
  4. Handle bookings for accommodations, transportation, and travel services accurately.
  5. Assist customers with self-service options on the platform or app.
  6. Respond in a timely manner, adhering to service level agreements (SLAs).
  7. Ensure compliance with company and customer policies, maintaining global standards.
  8. Provide feedback to stakeholders on progress towards goals and key processes.
  9. Participate in team discussions regarding products, service providers, and industry trends.
  10. Stay informed about industry best practices and trends.
  11. Maintain regular attendance, complete required training, and meet performance expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Native/fluent in German (C1), both oral and written, as well as fluency in English, at least B2.
  2. 5+ years in a travel consultant role, with expertise in bookings for air, rail, and accommodations.
  3. 3+ years of experience using GDS (Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo) – both required.
  4. Experience in contact center or customer-facing roles.
  5. Proficient in using tools such as Gmail, Zendesk, Slack, and Salesforce.
  6. Flexible to work rotating shifts, Monday to Sunday, between 7 AM and 11 PM.
  7. Strong multitasking abilities, quick problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently to resolve issues.
  8. Empathetic, professional, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
