Librarian
The city library in Braga is seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library resources and services. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a library setting, preferably with a degree in Library Science or related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, periodicals, and electronic resources
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries, including locating materials and providing guidance on effective search strategies
- Promote library resources and services through outreach events and marketing efforts
- Collaborate with other library staff to develop and implement programs and activities for all ages
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in library technology to continuously improve services offered to patrons
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist patrons with research inquiries
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and database management
- Familiarity with emerging technologies used in libraries
We offer a competitive salary of $1300 per month for this full-time position. We do not provide accommodation but can offer visa sponsorship for qualified applicants. This is also a great opportunity for students looking to gain experience in the field of librarianship while studying.
