Restaurant Manager - Funchal, Portugal
As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant in Funchal. Your main goal is to ensure that our guests have an exceptional dining experience and that our restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with the kitchen staff, front of house team, and management to maintain high standards of food quality, customer service, and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the restaurant including food preparation, service, cleanliness, and maintenance
- Create and maintain schedules for kitchen and front of house staff
- Train new employees on company policies, procedures, and customer service standards
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Oversee food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health codes
- Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and effectively
- Collaborate with management to develop marketing strategies to increase business
- Analyze financial reports to track revenue and expenses
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all team members
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and restaurant operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills in English (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)
- Basic understanding of financial principles including budgeting and cost control
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
Salary
This is a contracted job with a salary of $1200 per month. Additional benefits may be offered based on performance.
Location
Our restaurant is located in the beautiful city of Funchal on the island of Madeira. We welcome candidates from all nationalities who are legally eligible to work in Portugal.
