On the backend, we develop and improve the APIs which are consumed by the frontend team. We manage deployment, scaling, and automation of our complete infrastructure ourselves. We are serving up to 900,000 requests per hour on over 200 different APIs and have a maximum of around 1,000 concurrent users. Currently, we have 3 backend developers, and you will be the 4th. In total, we are 11 developers, with 7 working on the frontend app.Our system is growing, so we need an experienced backend Java developer to design and create new features and rework existing ones to handle increasing loads. If you enjoy scripting, servers, and DevOps, you are welcome to join in this area (optional, not required). Most API code is written in Grails, but prior Grails knowledge is not necessary. If you know Spring and Hibernate, you will feel at home with Grails.We take writing clean, testable, and maintainable code seriously. You will have all the time you need to implement clean and great solutions. We are in it for the long game, so we prioritize great code architecture.
