Offer Description The thesis work will be carried out as part of a dynamic well-equipped team at the new multidisciplinary Paris-Saclay Neuroscience Institute, in collaboration with a team with long-standing expertise in gene therapy. The project has received financial support from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR, France).
Thesis Title:
Ontogenesis of behavioural disorders and brain dysfunction in mouse models of Duchenne muscular dystrophy
The objective is to study the postnatal development and ontogeny of sensory, motor, behavioral, cognitive and neuropsychiatric deficits in mouse models of a neurodevelopmental pathology (Duchenne muscular dystrophy). Specific aims include clarifying the differential impact of two mutations leading to distinct neuropsychological profiles in patients, characterizing biochemical biomarkers of the brain cellular alterations associated with these deficits, and identifying the age of onset of these alterations. The behavioral phenotypes and biomarkers identified will be used to define an optimal therapeutic window and evaluate the impact of gene therapies aimed at compensating for these deficits.

Additional Information Activities:
Postnatal behavior of mice, dissection and sampling of brain tissue, biochemical analyses (western blots), immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, intracerebral injections.
Required Skills:
Strong motivation for postnatal behavioral studies in mice, research at the interface between neuroscience and preclinical research, proficiency in statistics applied to biology, and understanding of ethics. Candidates should demonstrate organization, rigor, diligence, team spirit, initiative, and good writing skills in both French and English, with fluency in English being essential.
