The Head of HR/ Seagoing Personnel reports directly to the CEO and indirectly to the members of the Administration.
Main Responsibilities:
Create a Strategic HR Planning;
Develop recruitment strategies and processes for all company;
Develop Crew Administration Processes and Systems;
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures;
Team Management;
Create HR Reports and Analytics;
HRIS (Human Resources Information System) Management;
Performance Management and Development;
Implement training programs;
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
Proven experience in crew administration, crewing operations, or a similar role within the maritime industry.
Familiarity with crew administration processes, documentation, and industry-specific requirements is advantageous.
In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, labor laws, and industry standards related to crew management and employment.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining crew records and documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience working with database systems.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Adaptability to changing priorities and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Others Responsibilities:
Budgeting and Financial Control:
Develop and manage the budget for the HR department;
Monitor HR-related expenses, analyze budget variances, and identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency.
Collaborate with Finance and Accounting departments in the preparation of financial statements, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Vendor and Contract Management:
Negotiate contracts and agreements with HR service providers;
Evaluate and recommend cost-saving strategies, alternative vendors, and process improvements to optimize HR-related expenditures.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Review and monitor financial reports related to HR expenses;
Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement in HR operations and resource allocation.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making for HR related topics.
Medical and P&I Claims Management:
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the efficient management of medical and P&I (Protection and Indemnity) insurance claims related to seagoing personnel.
Collaborate with medical providers, insurers, and legal advisors to ensure timely and accurate handling of medical claims and related documentation.
Liaise with medical providers, onboard medical staff, and seagoing personnel to gather necessary medical information and documentation for claims processing.
