.As the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager, your mission is to ensure the organization operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner. This involves developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures to mitigate risks, comply with regulations, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. You will work closely with the engineering and project teams, as well as Lifthium COO, CTO and Head of Risk. Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, including those for Health and Safety at Work, Major Accident Prevention Policies, and Internal Emergency Plans, adhering to national, EU regulations, and lithium industry standards. Ensure adherence to safety, health, and security requirements throughout all project stages, including construction, collaborating closely with our teams to integrate best safety practices, regulations, and training protocols. Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and improvement opportunities, implementing effective solutions to maintain safety certifications. Investigate incidents, accidents, and- miss events promptly, implementing corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks. Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization by developing and delivering comprehensive training programs and ensuring strict compliance. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to health, safety, and environmental performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives. Actively participate in internal and external safety forums as a representative of Lifthium, sharing expertise and insights on safety and health topics. Execute the Internal Emergency Plan seamlessly in the event of an emergency at our sites. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field, with specialization in Safety (CPA level VI or VII); 5-8 years of proven experience in developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within a regulated industry, preferably in the lithium or chemical sector; Previous experience in risk analysis methodologies and techniques (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, BOW-TIE) and SOVESO installations (preferable); Previous experience in contributing to industrial facilities construction (preferable); Strong knowledge of national and EU safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices; Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective solutions; Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, with a passion for promoting a- first culture; Ability to collaborate effectively with- functional teams and stakeholders; Proficient in both spoken and written Portuguese and English
