General Description
TheGlobal PerformanceGroup splits its focus betweenthe execution of engineeringactivities in support ofcurrentcommercial projectsandthe execution ofR&Dstudiesto optimize the performance and ultimatelyreducethe cost of the WindFloattechnology forfuture projects .
Group responsibilities
Hullglobalsizingbased on project specificconditions (Metocean data, site/project specifics including facilities, wind turbineselected).
Stability analysis forpre-serviceand in-service conditions
Global performance analysis includingDesignLoadCasephilosophy,motion analysis, airgap analysis and loadcalculations.
Active ballast system specificationand modelling
Internal engineering interface with Structures, Marine Systems, Mooring/Cables and Installation
Internal interface with ProjectManagement,Business Development, Technology
External interfacewithwindturbine manufacturers,ClassificationSocieties,andClients
Load-out and commissioningtechnicalsupportduringexecution.
TheNaval Architect / Global PerformanceEngineeris capable tocarry out the assigned engineering work with guidance tosharetheGlobal PerformanceGroupresponsibilities.
This position reports to theGlobal Performance Lead Engineer.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Developengineeringcompetenciesin the areas of the Group'sresponsibility .
Support the definition,development, review andapprovalofdesignmethodologies,numericalmodels,anddesign procedures/processes.
Support the selection of internal or externaldesigntools/software
Support discipline development and improvement initiatives,including through the management ofotherEngineers of theGroup.
FacilitateGroup'sinternal technical communications and interfaces.
CommercialProjectExecution
Supportthedesignof capabilitiesthat accelerate design process effectivenessandensurequalityduring the execution of commercialprojects.
Perform and supportGroupwork productdeliveryandensurequalitywork productson commercial projects.
Collect project requirements relevant to platform global performance
Building hydrodynamic and coupled aero-hydro model
Perform global performance design and analysis, following proper QAQC process and project schedule
Perform model verification with turbine manufacturer and structural engineering team
Provide interface information to internal/external parties
Research and Development
SupporttheTechnology Group in thedefinition of theWindFloat R&Dprogram
Perform and support Groupdeliveryand ensure quality work productsonR&Dprojects(internal and external).
Support theGroupinthecapture andimplementationofcommercial projectlessons learnedto improve next generation WindFloat hulldesigns.
General Group Managementand Communications
Supportinproactive recruitment of exceptionaltechnicaltalentfor theGroup
Contribute technicalpublicationsfor technical conferences or journals and support the review and approval of technicalpublicationsfor theGroup.
SupportGroupstrategy, culture,andplanningactivities.
Skills & Competencies
0-4 years of professional experience in ship, offshore or floating wind industry
Experience with hydrodynamics simulations or problems
Familiarity with at least one programming language such as python or MATLAB
Detail oriented, organized, proactive and self-motivated
Good communication skills both written and oral
Other requirements
Experience with hydrodynamics related numerical tools such as OrcaFlex, Rhinoceros, Orca3D or OpenFAST
Proficient in English both written and spoken
Authorized to work in the location you apply for
