Director Global Cloud Security

What you will do

The Director for Global Cloud Security develops the strategic maturity and maintains operational responsibility for protecting Amgen's global workloads offerings across Platforms As a Service (PAAS), Infrastructure As A Service (IAS) and Software As a Service (SAAS) and is accountable directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO). This position will be responsible for shaping and delivering next generation Cloud Workload Protection (CWP) and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) capabilities across Amgen rapidly growing global cloud services.

This role is directly responsible for providing critical security monitoring, detection and analysis services to identify malicious files, Internet Protocols (IP) sources, domains, vulnerabilities from system and resource misconfigurations across Amgen's global cloud operating environment. Moreover, the Director for Cloud Security works closely with the Enterprise Architecture community to help establish security baselines and operational guardrails for Amgen's global cloud service offerings through Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Job Responsibilities:

Develops strategy, direction, governance and guidance for CDT's Cloud Security Program

Steward of the Enterprise Architecture standards and practices across the CDT organization

Comply with CDT Security Architecture Program align technology plans with adopted security control framework

Develop, expand and maintain SOC Tier 1 response playbook inventory

Maintain global organizational plan that complies with CDT established standards such as organizational shape and operating standards

Maintain effective administration and governance over service documentation standards that include system requirement specifications, SOPs, design specifications and other documents based on organizational needs

Establish, maintain and report security compliance metrics through CDT Monthly Information Protection Report (MIPR)

Establish, maintain and report operational metrics, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across service offerings

Establish monthly operational dashboards through Enterprise Service now for Management reporting

Maintain adherence to all established standards that support Amgen system life cycle process, change control, incident and request management

Provide functional support for all corporate audit activities and prioritized findings through Targeted Attack Operations and exercises

This position requires after hours support and responsibilities and may be required to travel based on mission needs

Monitor and manage functional get to green plans for all open and related IS control exceptions

Maintain cooperative partnership with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Team to establish a service risk posture qualitative/quantitative reporting for CDT services

Develop and maintain secure configuration specifications for Amgen infrastructure (IoT, mobile, cloud...) on premise and in the cloud

Strong understanding and experience supporting GXP/qualified business systems leveraging cloud delivered infrastructure and services

What we expect of you

Requirements:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Master's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

And

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Operational experience and advanced technical understanding of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and GCP platform services

Mature understanding of Identity and Access Management, Data Protection, DevSecOps, Security Operations, and other security domains

Working/Emerging knowledge of Cloud Solutions and services across IAAS, PAAS & SAAS

Hands-on experience with foundational cloud services including compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security, deployment and management, automation technologies

Technical experience and strong fundamentals on micro service architecture and serverless workloads (AWS Lambda, Docker, etc.)

Experience designing, developing, testing and deploying business applications leveraging cloud micro service architecture

Extensive experience architecting, designing and programming applications and RESTFUL Services in an AWS Cloud environment

Understanding and programmatic application of ISO 27001/2 Frameworks and NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, CSA Cloud Control Matrix

Practical knowledge of security architectural frameworks (TOGAF/DODAF, SABSA, etc..)

Strong written and verbal communications to effectively convey strategic direction, dialogue with executives and collaborate with technical Subject Matter Experts (SME)

Direct experience managing globally dispersed Teams and maintaining 24/7 support coverage

CISSP, AWS Certified Professional or higher
