.Histopathology Platform - Junior Digital Pathology Scientist The selected candidate will Work closely with senior experimental pathologists and laboratory staff to support a variety of research projects, in the field of digital pathology. Responsibilities will include: - Prepare, scan, and conduct digital image analysis and interpretation of pathological specimens from rodents, zebrafish, human, using a variety of software and tools; - Manage and organize digital pathology data and records; - Assist in the development and optimisation of digital pathology workflows applied to preclinical research; - Maintaining accurate records and documentation of experimental procedures and results; - Communicating findingsto team members and participating in team meetings; - Contributing to the development and optimisation of new techniques and protocols; - Troubleshoot equipmentand technical issues as they arise. September 2023 Requirements Research Field Biological sciences Master Degree or equivalent Skills/Qualifications MSc in Veterinary Medicine or related field Desirable skills that will also be considered Specific Requirements Essential skills - Strong knowledge of animal histology and pathology; - Prior experience working in a laboratory or research setting, preferably in the field of pathology, involving animal studies; - Experience with digital image analysis and interpretation; - Proficiency in computer skills, including data management and analysis; - Familiarity with laboratory techniques and equipment; - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; - Excellent attention todetail and organisational skills; - Excellent level of English. Selection process Candidates will be screened to determine eligibility based on minimum qualifications listed in call. Candidates meeting minimum requirements will be scored according to the required application materials: CV 80% weighting, motivation letter 10%, interview 10% (in case of a tie). If provided, and if shortlisted, candidates' referees may be contacted and may count towards evaluation. Evaluation Committee members Application materials CV and letter of motivation indicating 2 references (one single pdf document). Proof of qualifications (certificates) may be required at a later date for the formalisation of the contract agreement. Degrees obtained abroad may need to be formally recognised in Portugal
