The Nacelle structure department is working across the Nacelle module to secure world-class quality in both development and processes.ResponsibilitiesFEA assessment and working on local and global FEA modelling for Nacelle Structure & internals components, cover components and base frame & yaw componentsAnalyze/write DVRE reportsDesign for functionality, including functional interfacesDesign performance and reliability including lifetime estimates of the designDesign verification (incl.
FEA), validation and reportsDesign risk associated with the designWorking closely with Product certification (DNV and other certification)Generate solutions for design challengesQualificationsA bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similarIdeally 3 years of experience in a similar roleKnowledge of the following software: Ansys Mechanical; Ansys Parametric DesignLanguage (APDL); Ansys Spaceclaim; Creo/Creo ViewUnderstanding of turbine loads and technical understanding of a wind turbine generator would be an asset, but not a requirementCompetenciesThe ideal candidate would bring experience in some or all of the following technical areas:Structural/Mechanical engineering and designStructural verification of bolt connectionsExperience in steel structure material propertiesDesign norms and standards: Eurocodes, European standards, DNV standardsKnowledge about extreme and fatigue analysisKnowledge of system interface design & stakeholder managementKnowledge about manufacturing methodsKnowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessment documentationKnowledge about Test & Verification: Understand setup of testing & test result analysis3rd party certificationEngineering drawing: knowledge of international engineering design and drawing standardsUnderstanding a product life cycle/value chainAdditionally, the preferred candidate would also possess the following soft skills:Solid interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationshipsA collaborative and team-oriented approachFluency in English (spoken and written)What We OfferWe offer an opportunity to join a global team, based in India and Portugal, where you will be involved in the development of new products and product upgrades for Vestas, towards a greener future.Furthermore, you'll be encouraged daily to share and propose ideas that will allow you to leave your mark and contribute to improving product cost, and efficiency of the engineering work and processes.
