Our laboratory is interested in understanding the mechanisms that regulate breast cancer dormancy, and in finding ways to effectively target dormant cancer cells and prevent metastatic disease.The selected candidate will spearhead a research project within a broader research program, whose goal is to understand how tissue immunity shapes metastatic progression. The project is expected to leverage single-cell and spatial profiling technologies in mouse and human tissues to understand how specific immune environments within distant sites react to disseminated tumor cells and disproportionally impact the emergence of breast cancer metastases.DepartmentNumber and type of fellowships or contracts to be awardedRequired Education LevelPhDResearch FieldsSkills/QualificationsPhD in Immunology or Cancer Biology, and a strong interest in tumor immunology.Specific RequirementsEssential skills- Extensive experimental laboratory experience, including experience with cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemistry; - A good understanding of immunology and experience with multicolour immune phenotyping by flow-cytometry; - Proven track record inconducting research, including designing, executing, and interpreting experiments, as demonstrated by previous publications (with at least one first author publication from graduate school); - Ability to prioritize and see the big picture, but also to focus on details; - A collaborative mindset with peers, students, and external collaborators; - Strong spoken and written competency in English.Desirable skills that will also be considered- Experience working with mouse tumor immunology models is strongly desired; - Computational skills are a plus.Competitive remuneration package commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.Full immersion into a research excellence ecosystem with highly motivated researchers, supported by state-of-the-art technology and continuous development opportunities.12 months, renewable for additional periods.Eligibility criteriaNational, Foreign or Stateless candidate(s) who hold a PhD degree in Immunology or Cancer Biology or other related scientific areas and a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a profile appropriate to the activity to be developed.
