What we offer We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Trainee Data Scientist.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in data and analytics and a willingness to learn.
You will be exposed to real-world data challenges and work closely with experienced data scientists to develop your skills.
This role will involve working with datasets, developing basic predictive models, and collaborating with various teams to deliver data-driven solutions, offering an excellent opportunity to kickstart a career in data science within a dynamic consultancy environment.
This role is designed to provide on-the-job training and development.
Previous experience in data science is not required.
What you?will do Data exploration and preparation: Learning to clean, structure, and explore datasets to identify trends, patterns and insights.Model development: Undertaking initial steps in model building, such as data splitting and feature engineering, with guidance from senior team members.Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.Data visualization: Creating basic data visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science and machine learning, especially pertaining to predictive modeling.
What you'll bring Preferred educational background includes a degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a relevant Post-Graduate qualification in Data Science.A foundational understanding of a programming language such as Python or R.Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques, time-series analysis, regression analysis, clustering, classification, and dimensionality reduction.Basic knowledge of SQL and how to interact with databases.Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a consultancy environment.Nice to have Ability to work with and manipulate datasets using tools like Pandas, Tidyverse, or similar libraries.Ability to create simple charts and graphs to communicate insights.Basic knowledge of GitHub and version control.Interest in advanced machine learning techniques such as Deep Learning and Generative AI.Ekin ToruData Engineer Associate, Istanbul"At Metyis, I feel in touch with the world.
