ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team within a leading telecommunications carrier. This role will play a crucial part in overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and contributing to the financial integrity of our operations in Europe and the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Invoice Processing: Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accurate coding, approval, and timely payment of invoicesVendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and negotiating favorable termsTeam Support: Provide guidance and support to the accounts payable team, ensuring efficient workflow and timely resolution of issuesPolicy Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in Europe and the United States.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to generate accurate and timely reports related to accounts payable.Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits, providing documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.Cash Flow Management: Coordinate with treasury and finance teams to optimize cash flow and manage payment schedules.Training: Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs to enhance awareness and adherence to accounts payable policies.ABOUT YOU: You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; additional professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are advantageous.
A minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounts payable, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
You are familiar with telecommunications industry regulations and compliance requirements in Europe and the United States.
You have strong proficiency in using accounting software and SAP.
You demonstrate the ability to provide guidance and support to accounts payable teams.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
You have proficiency in English - additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, or other European languages are advantageous.
