We are seeking a motivated and ambitious self-starter to join our client's Madeira office as an Audit Senior. In this role, you will work closely with the Audit Manager in Madeira and the team in the Channel Islands to complete all aspects of audit planning, fieldwork, and completion for a diverse range of clients, such as financial services companies, PEs, regulated funds, crypto entities, and property holdings companies.
The team is currently small, but rapidly growing. This role will come with excellent growth and development opportunities, giving you the chance to accelerate your career to the next level.
Responsibilities: Assist in the execution of audit engagements as part of the overall team.
Ensure financial statements comply with relevant accounting standards.
Provide audit services for voluntary, compulsory, and regulatory assurances, as well as agreed upon procedures.
Manage your own client base and workload, with support from team members.
Complete necessary procedures such as engagement letters and maintain client records in a database.
Ensure all deadlines are met and handle email and post on a daily basis.
Assist with various reconciliations.
Develop and maintain a good understanding of local regulatory requirements and technical changes in accounting standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement in audit methodology and drive innovation and transformation.
Requirements: 3+ years of external audit experience.
Holding or studying towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, ICAS, or equivalent).
Ability to work independently and multitask within time constraints and deadlines.
Strong organizational, planning, attention to detail, and coaching skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees.
Dedication to providing exceptional service to clients.
Knowledge of external or internal auditing techniques, including risk assessment and controls testing.
Reasonable knowledge of accounting standards relating to IFRS and FRS 102.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong written and oral English skills.
Experience with CCH, Quickbooks, Sage, and Xero (preferred).
Must have a relevant right to work in Madeira/EU.
