.STRYPES is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer with specialized experience in Texas Instruments TDA4 Chipset (Jacinto 7 Platform) to join our engineering team. This role involves designing and developing embedded software solutions that push the boundaries of automotive systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in embedded systems, a passion for solving complex problems, and a drive to create high-quality, innovative products. We are a Dutch-Portuguese software development company, home-based in Lisbon and Porto. We focus on the development of a wide range of innovative embedded software solutions, including embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, and bare-metal applications, while also covering operating systems, board support packages and device driver development. To cover such a wide variety of challenging software development disciplines, we believe that exceptional and highly empowered employees are essential. We work within a hybrid model, with offices based in Lisbon and Porto. We are happy to hire candidates from any city in Portugal, who would be available to come in office, regularly. If this description sounds familiar to you, STRYPES may be a fitting career move for you Your daily responsibilities include: Design, develop low-level embedded software supporting automotive systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, requirements, and integration strategies. Implement and validate new software features in a real-time environment, namely at operating system level and bare metal. Perform suitable testing to ensure software reliability, performance, and adherence to automotive standards. Optimize system performance considering non-functional constraints such as memory usage, boot time, and security. Document design, development, and testing processes, ensuring best practices in software development are followed. Essential qualifications, skills, and experience: Academic background in Engineering or similar. Proficient in programming languages used in embedded context, such as C, C++, Python. Experience in low-level embedded software development (device drivers / hardware abstraction layers) Experience in dealing with complex hardware architectures, namely ARM based heterogeous systems-on-chip (SoC). Experience with system features such as secure boot and power management. Understanding of ISO26262 and the concepts associated with functional safety. Contact with AUTOSAR, OSEK OS, QNX (preferable) Excellent communication skills in English. Our recruitment process consists of three distinct steps, each designed to assess different aspects of a candidate's qualifications, skills, and alignment with the organization.
