Position Overview We are looking for a talented and driven Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Department and help us design, build, and manage the future of global infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about working with cutting-edge technologies and creating robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure systems. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving our infrastructure, ensuring top-tier performance, scalability, and security across our global systems. 
Your expertise will be essential in designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure that powers our world-leading connectivity solutions. You'll work on critical projects such as the deployment of new state-of-the-art data centers, leveraging technologies like SDN, SDS, HCI, and Kubernetes to ensure that our infrastructure remains efficient, reliable, and future-proof.
Key Responsibilities Design, Deploy, and Operate: Architect and manage runtime infrastructure with a focus on IaaS, ensuring global availability, performance, and security.  Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and etc.  Data Center Expansion: Lead the deployment of data centers using modern technologies like SDN, SDS, and HCI to ensure cutting-edge operational efficiency.  Kubernetes and Containerisation: Design and operate Kubernetes-based platforms to manage containerised workloads effectively.  Observability: Maintain optimal observability on systems and applications through robust logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.  Security and Compliance: Work closely with the security team to ensure systems hardening, compliance with industry standards (e.g., CIS), and implementation of IAM solutions.  Performance Optimisation: Conduct regular audits and optimise hardware and systems, ensuring resource availability, high performance, and cost efficiency.  Support and Troubleshooting: Participate in on-call rotations, investigate and resolve critical infrastructure issues, and create comprehensive system documentation.  Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 5 years in infrastructure engineering, with expertise in building, deploying, and managing global infrastructure systems.  Linux Expertise: Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux/Rocky Linux (or similar) and Linux system administration.  Virtualisation: Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi for managing virtualised environments (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).  Infrastructure as Code: Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Puppet for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.  HCI (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure): Experience designing, deploying, and managing HCI solutions.  Kubernetes & Containerisation: Expertise in Kubernetes, Helm, and service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) for container orchestration.  Networking: Deep understanding of high-performance networking, SR-IOV, NFV, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, DNS).  System Architecture: Knowledge of hardware concepts (disk subsystems, memory, CPU, NICs, RAID, I/O subsystems, HBA, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet) and performance optimisation.  Security & Compliance: Experience with system hardening, compliance frameworks (CIS, GDPR), and IAM systems (OpenLDAP, Active Directory, PAM).  Monitoring & Observability: Expertise in tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and Loki for system monitoring and proactive issue resolution.  CI/CD & Automation: Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and contributing to infrastructure automation.  Scripting & Programming: Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go for infrastructure management and automation.  Storage Technologies: Familiar with SDS (Software Defined Storage) and data protection strategies (backup, disaster recovery).  Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to resolve infrastructure issues under pressure.  Continuous Learning: Passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in infrastructure.  Why 1GLOBAL?
