Offer Description Post-Doc in the ANR METHAFLU project to study the influence of influenza A virus RNA m6A methylation on the host innate immune response. In collaboration with Bruno Sargueil's group.
Modifications of influenza A virus (IAV) RNA by methyl-6-adenosine (m6A) strongly influence viral replication. However, the molecular mechanisms involved have not been clearly identified, partly because methylation sites have not been mapped at the nucleotide level. In this project, the Post-Doc recruited will introduce innovative methods to precisely map m6A sites on the different viral RNAs expressed in IAV-infected cells - genomic/antigenic RNA and mRNA - and define their impact on viral RNA structure.
Establish models using machine learning techniques and analyze sequence data available in databases and through collaboration with experimenters in the project.
The Post-doc recruited for the project will work in LPENS team 11 (Inference for biology). He/she will also interact with the LJP (Jussieu) and the PSC (QBIO), where he/she will have an office and workspace for discussions and interactions with other group members.
Key Skills Required: Numerical Simulations, Machine Learning, Analytical Modeling, Phylogeny, and Homology Modeling in Bioinformatics.
