WireCo is headquartered in Prairie Village, Kansas with manufacturing plants, distribution facilities and research and development centers worldwide.Job Summary• R&D projects management on polymer fibre extrusion and industrial textiles;• Focus on specific development projects, related both to products and processes;• Support the broader R&D team in selected projects;• Support Quality and Manufacturing in complaint and problem solving;• Support Commercial team with technical sales activities.Job DutiesParticipate in the execution of product development projects;Manage R&D projects by stage gate process;Translate client demands into technical specifications;Report and archive progress and conclusions;Draft technical specifications and supporting technical data for marketing and literature;Create specifications according to standards and input;Final approval of processing parameters of new products and SKU's;Follow-up tests, trials and R&D productions;Special circumstances: operate in manufacturing environments, in the vicinity of running machines and chemical materials;Organization and control of documentation related to each project;Search, study and archive new literature related to rope technology;Participate in conferences, workshops and seminars related to the industry;Define and/or execute testing on competitive materials and alternative technologies;Reporting and analysis on competitive intelligence;External orientation: work with institutes, suppliers, customers.The R&D Engineer must exhibit and proactively motivate others in the behaviors of the WireCo Business System (WBS):Teamwork - welcomes an environment of inclusiveness and healthy debate that reflects our team's strengthAccountable – celebrates our successes, learn from failures, avoid excuses, and own the outcomes of our effortsSelf-Aware – demonstrates an understanding of our strengths and needs, considering how our actions impact othersNoble Intent – acts in the interests of others, approaching our work with integrity to ensure the best outcomeDetermined – takes initiative, share ideas and find solutions to win and achieve our goalsTransparent – promotes open and honest communication and constructive feedback for clarity and truthCurious – seeks knowledge and outside input to test our way of thinking, challenging the status quoQualifications Education Requirements: BS or MS Polymer Science or Materials ScienceYears of relevant work experience:Preferably worked as R&D engineer or process engineer in textile and/or polymer processing plantsTravel authorizations:Active driver's license; Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally on occasionAdditional Information • Flexible/adaptable to constant change;• Strong tact and diplomacy; ability to interact with all levels of personnel;• Organized; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments/projects;• Ability to prioritize, organize and plan work under own initiative;• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;• Confidentiality.We offer• Direct hiring by the company;• Excellent work environment;• Stability labor;• Join the world's leader in synthetics markets, such as Maritime, Mooring systems and Fishing nets.#J-18808-Ljbffr
