We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Head of Procurement to lead Procurement efforts at Critical Software. In this position, the person will play a pivotal role in securing high-quality and cost-efficient items to be purchased for our business.
The Head of Procurement will develop and implement procurement policies and procedures and will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in Procurement and Finance, as well as strong negotiation and relationship management skills. He or she should have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends.
The candidate will integrate the Finance Team at Critical Software - a very motivated and highly energetic team operating from Critical's offices in Coimbra, Lisbon, Porto and Southampton. The Procurement team is quite lean and focused, and the Head of Procurement is expected to be hands-on and get involved at all levels of the Procurement area.
The company has a track record of fast growth both organically as well as through startup/spinoff investments and joint ventures in the technology space and therefore offers excellent prospects for professional growth. We are looking for a professional that can grow with the company and have the ambition to lead at the highest levels at the company and group level.

What do we expect from you?
Strategic sourcing and evaluating prospective suppliers Establish and manage a network of trusted suppliers Lead negotiations with suppliers and partners Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures Assess and develop the existing IT tools used in the area Reviewing, benchmarking, and approving products and services to be purchased Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports Overseeing and supervising all purchasing activities of the company related to travel and fleet management What makes you a good candidate for this role?
Degree in business management, finance, economics or related field preferred 5+ years of experience in a Procurement and/or finance role Energetic, and open-minded, learning attitude Hands-on attitude, working with small team Excellent Negotiation and communication skills Strong leadership skills and ambition to lead at the highest levels Goal-oriented, organized team player Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software tools used in purchasing Excellent English language skills, speaking reading, and writing Availability for travel between company sites, suppliers, partners, and customers' sites.
