Establishes, audits, monitors and maintains corrective action scheduling with departments.The City of Cedar Rapids does not offer sponsorship for employment authorization.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists in establishing a City-Wide Safety Management System.Promotes safety through direct interaction with employees.Conducts needs assessment for safety and OSHA required training.Conducts safety audits through inspections of plants, job sites, and facilities.Ensures City-Wide Safety Policies are current with OSHA standards and Iowa Codes.Performs behavior-based safety and OSHA compliance trainings.Conducts job safety analysis to identify potential hazards and assists departments in implementing improvements, SOP's and training to help in elimination of the identified hazards.Conducts various industrial hygiene studies for medical conservation programs, including hearing, respiratory and silica.Assists in maintaining the city's technical and safety training library.Plans, develops, and monitors training schedules, maintains all necessary safety reports and records.Assists departments in investigation of accidents and incidents to identify root causes of workplace incidents in order to prevent similar incidents in the future; determines compliance with applicable regulations
