Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Backend Developer - Crypto - candidates need to be willing to travel at least once a month to Lisbon.
We are a decentralized finance (DeFi) project on the brink of unveiling an on-chain derivatives trading venue (DEX). We aim to bring the largest asset class in traditional Finance into the blockchain ecosystem. Our products are designed to cater predominantly to professional and sophisticated retail traders in the crypto ecosystem. We have recently closed a sizable funding round led by a leading European VC and successfully launched a beta. Our team is distributed between London (business) and Lisbon (engineering).
We seek a highly experienced and talented Full Stack Developer (Backend / Blockchain Focus) to join our team and lead our business development efforts. Currently, we are focusing our search on professionals based in Lisbon, Portugal. We offer an opportunity to join a well-funded project early in its lifecycle and apply your skills and knowledge to become a major driving force behind its success. While this is not a requirement, as we cater to the sophisticated traders' community, we will prioritize professionals with experience in building trading technology.
Your Responsibilities: Protocol Design & Smart Contract Development Design, develop, test, and deploy smart contracts on EVM Blockchains (Arbitrum, Ethereum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, others) Ensure all smart contracts are optimised, gas-efficient, and adhere to the highest security standards, incorporating the latest technologies and standards as they evolve Liaise with external audit firms for periodic reviews Backend/Frontend Development & Security: Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services related to the protocol Ensure data consistency, fault tolerance, scalability Develop APIs for front-end consumption and third-party integrations Conduct thorough code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests Stay updated with the latest security threats and ensure our protocol remains resilient against attacks Contribute to frontend development and support integrations of web3 frontends with backend and smart contracts Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with the product and research teams to design novel DeFi products and services Work closely with other engineers, researchers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth development Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative and innovative development environment Provide clear documentation and training materials for the team Requirements Strong full stack experience (typescript and/or golang)
Some exposure to solidity development
Backend experience and willingness to build backend
Must be willing to travel to Lisbon once a month
