Position OverviewWe seek a Senior Backend Engineer to shape the core platform's design and architecture, working closely with our founding team to deliver exceptional value to clients.
We pride ourselves on building from scratch, shipping code frequently, and learning as we go while ensuring critical security, performance, and uptime requirements.
Our leadership team has experience building products, scaling teams, and optimizing for growth while collaborating with ambitious engineers from top tech companies.
If you're passionate about simplifying complex problems through product development, this role is for you. As one of our first engineering hires, you'll have the opportunity to shape both the product and our engineering culture.
ResponsibilitiesDesign the core of our platformBuild a robust, secure, and resilient data ingestion layerDevelop a performant scraping and parsing layer to capture dataDeliver customer-facing APIs and developer-friendly documentation for a self-service productImpact and shape the engineering cultureContinuously improve software engineering practices and processesQualificationsAn effective and self-driven builder with 5+ years of experience in building and owning a complete end-to-end technology stack (Backend, CI/CD, Logging, Monitoring, Alerting)3+ years of Python familiarityExperience with Google Cloud Platform (or equivalent: AWS, Azure)Experience in designing customer-facing REST APIs and asynchronous architectures (e.g. queues, pub/sub, lambdas, webhooks)Strong experience with relational database modelling (using PostgreSQL or MySQL)Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldFamiliarity with software engineering best practices, such as DevOps, and CI/CDExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an agile environmentWork authorisation in PortugalDesirable SkillsExperience with low-level languages like C++, Rust or GoExperience writing web scrapersExperience developing and maintaining backends for complex processesPerks & BenefitsCompetitive salary package (including equity)Enhanced health benefitsFlexible working policy (hybrid)25 vacation daysStandard benefitsSick days and compassionate leave as needed
