The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) is looking to hire a Chief Communications Officer to oversee and manage all communications and public affairs activities for KAICIID. The role is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and involves working with a multicultural team to deliver on the global mandate. YOUR ROLE This key position involves ensuring strategic and effective communications, overseeing the development and implementation of the Centre's communications strategy, and shaping organizational communications priorities to enhance branding, programming, messaging, and public positioning. The Chief Communications Officer will engage with various media outlets and the public through different channels, reporting directly to the Secretary General. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Communication Strategy & Planning Lead the development and implementation of the Centre's communication strategy; Strengthen the Centre'scapacity to communicate effectively its programmatic work to the public, partners, and influential audiences; Identify and recommend opportunities for strategic positioning on national and international platforms; Develop the media outreach plan in collaboration with the Programme Division; Establish and maintain positive relationships with key media outlets and journalists; Manage reputational risk and media relations; Advise, develop, ensurequality and consistency of communication on all relevant channels; Manage the Centre's branding and oversee its implementation. Senior Leadership Contribution: Contribute to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) by providing input on the Centre's strategy, resource mobilization, and communication products; Advise on external communications to ensure clarity and consistency regarding the Centre's activities and positions on key topics. Budget & Operations Management Develop and implement the annual budget and operating plan for the Division; Ensure all activities align with Centre's policies and procedures; Oversee collaborations on advocacy/outreach campaigns in key policy/thematic areas. Publications & Digital Products Lead the development, design, and production of publications and digital products; Team Management & Staff Development Ensure quality and consistency in the development of training tools and toolkits; Inspire, coach, and support the Communications Division staff; Foster teamwork and communication within the team; Facilitate capacity-building for the Centre's staff. Representation & Partnership Represent the Centre at policy level meetings and workshops; Maintain active relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Undertake continual monitoring to identify opportunities and liabilities in the best interest of the Centre; Perform any other duties as required.
