Support station / Gateways operation on site, analyzing and developing improvement initiatives. Acts as a technical expert on complex and specialist subjects. Supports management with the analysis, interpretation and application of complex information, contributing to the achievement of divisional and corporate goals. Supports or leads projects by applying area of expertise.
What you will be doing: Prepare and monitor short term and long range plans regarding expansion procedures, staffing, equipment, vehicles and products at the operations.Assist in providing technical training to personnel in workshops, seminars and on-the-job training session in such areas as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, cost effectiveness and manpower scheduling.Monitor productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations and assists personnel in implementing required changes.Maintain communication between operations and corporate departments to provide technical expertise relating to facility requests, including lease termination, new location, five year planning, equipment justification, layout, vehicle planning and cost justification.Assist in studies designed to implement sound, innovative engineering concepts into operations and thus produce benefits for FedEx and our customers.Produce operational business requirement specifications and contribute to business cases.Create and manage project plans; monitor and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and plans as needed.Present project development and results to upper management.What do you bring with you: Degree or professional qualification in Industrial Engineering or quantitative discipline.Excellent command of English both written and spoken; Additional European language would be a plus (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Italian).Strong analytical skills.High MS Excel skills; Formulas, Dynamic Charts, Macros.Programming skills (e.g. VBA for Excel, Python, etc.) are a plus.Data analysis skills (e.g. SQL, MS PowerBI, etc.) are a plus.Project management certification (e.g. PMI or PRINCE2) is a plus.Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain or logistics is a plus.At least two years of experience working as operation engineer in manufacturing or services areas, supporting operations areas, positions like Quality Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer or continuous improvement engineers should cover this experience.What do we offer: A challenging position within the world's largest express transportation company.Impact on business at strategic level and exposure to middle and upper management.A unique and challenging position in an innovative, international, and dynamic working environment.Package of non-wage benefits (medical care including dental package; life insurance; multisport/mybenefit, extensive learning resources to further develop your skills and knowledge, including online language courses).Besides a competitive benefits and reward package we offer our employees a wide array of formal training and on-the-job learning opportunities to bring your career in FedEx to the next level.Hybrid working policy, where team members have the opportunity to combine the benefits of working in the office and some days working from home.Tuition Assistance Program.Employee Assistance Program for you and your family in difficult life situations.FedEx is one of the world's most admired companies and trusted brands year after year.
