What you'll doAs theSenior Architect Software Engineer – Internet of Things (IoT)IT is responsible for the development of various IoT projects. As such, this is a critical role in terms of customer perception and will directly impact the success/reputation of Vodafone's IoT product offering and its ability to achieve the forecasted revenue targets. The role holder will work with the product and architect team to deliver customer quality software products.As the Senior Architect Software Engineer – IoT Core Domain main responsibilities are:To deliver IoT software as per said requirements, managing all aspects of software deployment and continuous integrationProficient in problem determination, troubleshooting, root cause analysisIdentify and recommend process improvements from time-to-timeDocument and Provide technical guidelines and best practices to Operations and Development teamsWork closely with the enterprise architecture and product teams to ensure requirements can be realised and avoid unnecessary engineering costs later in the development processOversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial designProvide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineersEvaluate and identify opportunities to apply new technology solutions or ways of working to existing or upcoming products & services and to integration with legacy systemsAct as a subject matter expert for selected domain environments/ecosystemsInfluence and build effective relationships with peers within Group, local markets, suppliers & partners.Who you areProven experience as software architectIndustry experience with Software Platforms in Linux, on-premises and cloudSolid understanding of server technologiesStrong academic knowledge and professional experience of software development: Java Enterprise, Oracle 11G, Linux, Windows, HTML5/JavaScriptExperience using system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworksExperience with SQL, XML, JSON and CSVExperience of modern API technologiesExperience in software architecture, design and development patternsExperience of providing and maintaining transformations and APIs for customers and partnersGood understanding of Databases – Oracle, MongoDB, ElasticSearchExperience with java frameworks, SpringBoot, Spring technologies, CamundaExperience with container systems (docker) and orchestrators (docker compose, Kubernetes)Experience with messaging technologies, kafka, rabbitmqExperience with Unix shell, Perl, python to perform automation and maintenance tasks.Experience with CI/CD environmentsEducated to BSc degree level in telecommunications or related discipline with Software Development experienceBig picture oriented, end-to-end and concept to-operations thinkerExcellent interpersonal skills and able to adjust own style to suit audience and achieve objectivesExcellent influencing and negotiating skillsExcellent organisational skillsExcellent communication skills (both written and spoken)Fluent in English (spoken and written), second language an advantageInspirational leader, creative thinker.Not a perfect fit?Worried that you don't meet all the desired criteria exactly?
