The company offers goods across a broad range of categories, such as phones and electronics, home appliances, fast-moving consumer goods, fashion and beauty.The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and managing the month-end and year-end close processes.Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards, driving process improvements, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The Senior Accounting Manager will collaborate across departments to support the company's financial objectives and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.What you will be doingGeneral Ledger & Month-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger and compliant with group accounting principles (IFRS).Account Reconciliation: Oversee and review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance with company policies and regulations.Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors, leveraging automation and best practices.Audit Support: Prepare for and support internal and external audits, including providing necessary documentation and implementing audit recommendations.Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger teams. Provide training and development to enhance the team's performance and professional growth.Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations, including IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and tax laws.
