#LI-HybridAbout usBorgWarner is a global product leader in delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for the vehicle market.We are a company of innovators and independent thinkers that brings together talented employees, meaningful work and amazing technology in a unique environment.At BorgWarner we constantly work towards our vision of a clean and energy-efficient world.Our CultureWe believe health and safety of our employees are a top priority, we care about our local communities and the global environment.BorgWarner promotes and nurtures a diverse and inclusive environment, honors integrity, strives for excellence, commits to responsibility for our communities and the environment, and builds on the power of collaboration.Career OpportunitiesWe manage talent as seriously as we manage our businesses and encourage you to learn about our proud history, strong culture, technologies and future vision.We offer a strong local presence and interesting global opportunities.Start your future with BorgWarner nowLocationViana do Castelo plant, Portugal Summary:The Advanced Quality Engineer will be the quality responsible for programs, in order to ensure the implementation of best practices within the program team (CTF) to provide expected deliverables on time by following the defined APQP process (PDP / NPDP), in terms of, the qualitative content of product and process design.This position specific focus will be on the design for manufacturing and assembly developed within the D/PMEA and Control Plan for local application programs to ensure plant performance and customer requirements are met at SOP.Responsibilities:• Be the quality responsible and Voice of Quality (VOQ) in:• APQP / program management for application programs• D / PFMEA and control plan• PPAP• Ensure that BorgWarner processes, standards and program specific requirements are implemented and followed.• Obtain and cascade customer specific quality requirements for the program and converting these into deliverables for the project team / plant.• 100% oversight for all local APQP 8Ds.• Systemic failure lessons learned, read across and front loading in APQP.• Champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout APQP.• Monitor program KPIs with program team (CFT) and initiate actions if needed.• Lead audits on local programs and develop corrective actions with the cross functional teams (e.g.Pre-Gate / Pre-EOT audits, Gate Reviews, Launch Audits (VDA 63, WeAR)).• Escalate program specific quality risks into the organization.• Ensure the discipline in the program team (CFT) that all program deliverables of the (N)PDP / APQP process are available on time.• Responsible for regular updates to the Program Manager / Advanced Quality Manager and / or the customer as to the project status.Education, Skills, Knowledge Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Engineer (Master's degree will be valued).• Knowledge of APQP processes• Experience of Six Sigma and Lean Green or Black Belt training.• Understanding and practical knowledge of multiple mechanical measurement technics (CMM, round scan, contour graph, surface roughness m/c, plug/thread gauges).• Experience of using tools such as 8-D, 7-Steps, 5 Whys, Quality Alerts to resolve quality issues.• Proficiency in English• Knowledge of Germany (other languages will be valued) Core Competencies• Costumer Focus• Decision Quality• Priority Setting• Drive for Results• Problem Solving• Interpersonal Savvy• Conflict Management
