TRANSITION. #OGJS The Database Administrator is responsible for applying the discipline knowledge and to act as its true partner to SBM business users in providing database support. You advise within your area of expertise, and you are to remain at the forefront of database developments to identify innovative methods to carry out assigned tasks that will increase the overall reliability and quality in databases and servers. ROLE CONTRIBUTION To support, govern and contribute to a fully integrated and aligned Group IT Strategy across the SBM organization, you are to: Liaise, work together with, and advise your IT colleagues across different sites and disciplines Execute the processes and best practices necessary to work according to the procedures and work instructions. Work with IT Enterprise Architecture team to make suggestions for improvement if required. Ensure quality and accurate information of software assets in the CMDB when applicable. Identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and improve or correct such documentation in coordination with other Database Administrators and the IT Knowledge Manager. Support the Network and System team in solving cross-discipline complex problems; Work on four main areas to ensure application uptime - Implementation, Support, Monitor, Report Follow Incident Management Procedures and ITSM Procedures. Communicate/escalate in timely manner recurring issues and problems to Support Manager In order to ensure knowledge sharing and creating awareness amongst the IT community on your respective specialism, you are to: Keep the IT community informed on any new initiatives and decisions taken that might have an impact on day-to-day business; Participate in project implementation when required; Ensure a cross functional alignment to minimize down-time within the overall IT landscape In order to ensure that you understand and manage your stakeholders and their requirements as well as having assigned activities completed successfully, you are to: Understand, plan and deliver assigned tasks with accuracy to meet stakeholders needs in a timely manner; Complete tasks in compliance with applicable standards and work procedures; Identify areas for potential issues and proactively communicate with application stakeholders. Seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise and recommend alternative solutions; Perform thorough self-check of all solutions prior to release for use by stakeholders; Properly plan work to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and adjustments to ensure intended functionality; Network with stakeholders to serve as a source of support in executing project Produce consistent/organized instructions in a well-structured format to convey required information to stakeholders JOB REQUIREMENTS Recent graduated (less than 2 years) in information science / computer science or related disciplines Knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server Administration on-Premises (Knowledge of Azure SQL Server will be added advantage) Knowledge in Oracle Database Administration will be added advantage. Understanding of basic SQL queries, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE statements. Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and integrity T-SQL: Familiarity with basic Transact-SQL (T-SQL) commands and syntax. Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications Knowledge of Windows Server environment Possessing some experience with the following will be added advantage: Azure Integration Services, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApp, or Sharepoint Online will be added advantage. Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to learn about SQL Server and oracle database administration. Attention to Detail: Careful attention to detail to ensure accuracy in executing tasks and following instructions. Documentation Skills: Ability to document processes, issues, and resolutions clearly and concisely.
