TRANSITION.THIS POSITIONReports to: Accounting Team LeadersLiaises with: Accounting and Reporting teams, Cost controllers, Business Controllers, Local teams in countries, Consolidation team;During your Internship in SBM Offshore you will have the opportunity to learn from / contribute for the Close & Accounting Department. During 18 months you will have different work experiences in the 4 main Accounting teams that comprises this Department: Turnkey, Operations, Group Functions and Intercompany.Additional opportunities will also be provided to you, for periods between 3 to 6 months, to discover the Forecast to Control Department, which works closely with Close & Accounting.RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS – Close & AccountingYou will have the possibility to learn and contribute in some of the following tasks:Participate to the daily accounting processPerform regular review of the bookkeeping of companiesParticipate to the monthly closing tasks: booking of non-recurring journal entries in the accounting tool (two different tools depending on the company) and preparing back up filesEnsure internal control procedures are applied (IcoFr framework) and support the data gathering for internal control checksEnsure Group accounting policies are applied in the accounting processes of the relevant companiesParticipate in the account analysis on a quarterly basis for the Group Consolidated Balance Sheet report sent to the Group consolidation team:Contribute to analysis of consolidated balance sheet at sub-consolidation level, under different sets of reporting (IFRS, Directional)Support on the preparation of consolidation journals for the relevant companies;Prepare yearly disclosures;Provide support to technical consolidation issues (blocking controls, I/CO mismatches, irrelevant journals..)Ad hoc requests from the team lead;Support on the preparation of the statutory Financial Statements under relevant Standards (IFRS, local GAAPs)Participate in preparation of the statement of Financial Statements and notesLiaise with local teams in-countriesSupport the team in the statutory audits and liaise with external auditorsSupport the team on the preparation of unaudited financial statements for bi-annual bank covenants;Support the team in the preparation of the Board packages/papers for the entities under joint-venture agreementsContribute to the standardization and automation of current procedures, outside your day-to-day activities, focusing on efficiency gains and accounting opportunities;Contribute and support on the issuance of Purchase Orders in relation with Audit fees or Consultancy fees and ensure a proper follow up of the invoicing of suppliers;Contribute to the preparation of reconciliation files or follow up files for different transversal activities in order to ensure reliability or completeness of informationJOB REQUIREMENTSFinancial accountant has a minimum of BSc degree in business, economics or equivalent and a maximum of 2 years of relevant experience.Less than 2 years of completed graduationHave a good understanding of tax accounting.Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);Knowledge of accounting / consolidation systems, preferably IFS ERP System;Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally.GENERAL INFORMATIONSBM Offshore N.V. is a listed holding company that is headquartered in Amsterdam.
