HBK is a leading organization in Testing and measuring environment who are on a journey to ensure that we are utilizing data-driven insights to make strategic business decisions. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to play a crucial role in using SAP DataSphere and SAP Analytical Cloud to build robust data infrastructure and facilitate advanced analytics within our organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leveraging SAP DataSphere and SAP Analytical Cloud to enhance our data analytics and reporting capabilities. The team is currently rebuilding our data landscape, and this is a real opportunity to drive change within the business area.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will take a leadership role in managing, optimizing, and transforming data to meet the organization's analytical needs. Drawing upon your extensive expertise in SAP DataSphere and SAP Analytical Cloud, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a solid data foundation for advanced analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain the organization's data architecture, including data pipelines and ETL processes, within SAP DataSphere and SAP Analytical Cloud.
Data Integration: Oversee the integration of data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality. Collaborate closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Performance Optimization: Continuously enhance the performance and scalability of data pipelines, databases, and analytical tools in SAP DataSphere and SAP Analytical Cloud.
Data Modeling and Schema Design: Create and manage data models and schemas to support advanced analytics and reporting, taking into account business needs and data standards.
Data Security and Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Implement data access controls, encryption, and audit trails.
Automation and Orchestration: Implement automation and orchestration processes to streamline data workflows, from data ingestion and transformation to reporting.
Collaboration and Leadership: Mentor junior data engineers and collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop effective solutions.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Establish comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address data-related issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on SAP DataSphere and SAP Analytical Cloud (is beneficial).
Extensive expertise in data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and database management.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with data integration and transformation tools.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
A deep understanding of data security and compliance best practices.
Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in data engineering.
