Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as Team Leader at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.Key Accountabilities:Coordinate the activities of the team members including the assignment of tasks and production objectivesTrain new members (safety rules in the operation of equipment, cleaning of the station and 5S, assembly and inspection processes)Training of all team leader and employees of the teams for each product up to the level of certification following the operator certification processRespond to production orders in line with the smoothing/levelling fulfillment rateFacilitate continuous improvement within the team and provide support in implementing improvements, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivationActively participate in problem solving (8D, 6M, 5 Whys related to safety and quality issues)Conduct daily meetings with team members and facilitate communication between shifts with a focus on product performance indicators (OEE, Through-Puts, FTT, PPM's, customer incidents/alerts, scrap, breakdowns, TRIR, accidents/ security incidents)Support and implement production tools (Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban)Responsible process control, using tools in use: Preventive Maintenance, Poka-yoke Control, Startup Checklist, LPALead, motivate and support the development of team membersProvide initial support for operators' personal issues (management of absences, vacations, personal problems, etc.
)Lead and actively participate in the collection of data/information necessary for production/engineeringEnsure adherence to control plans by conducting daily auditsManufacture parts, meeting quality and productivity standardsEstablish continuous improvement plans that lead to a more efficient organizationFacilitate efficient and open communication within the department and with other departments in the organizationEnsure and respect the compliance with safety and cleanliness rules of the workstationContinuously ensure the improvement of health, safety and environmental conditionsParticipate in the definition, implementation and maintenance of the organization's policiesParticipate in the definition of objectives of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at WorkActively participate in the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at WorkEnsure compliance with environmental, health and safety at work standards, policies and practices in accordance with their level of responsibilityDevelop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all areasComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working periodPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of serviceEducation & Experience          Secondary Education, preferably with technical-professional training, or a degree in engineering or a related fieldPrevious experience in a similar role will be valuedProblem Solving (5W; Ishikawa; PDCA; 8D) (preferred)Knowledge of quality toolsKnowledge of automotive industry standardsComputer knowledge from the user's perspectiveKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (preferred)Knowledge in the context of in-line production in the automotive industry (valued)Conflict ManagementQuality decisionResults OrientedFluent in PortugueseFluent in EnglishEEO StatementBorgWarner is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin or disability.
