The Opportunity We are seeking a talented Python Software Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that support our business intelligence needs.What You'll DoCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze existing processes, and design data-driven solutions.Develop and implement a robust database architecture using Microsoft SQL Server.Create Python ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) scripts to streamline data flow and integration.Build new Python code for various projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and APIs.Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from version control with Git to unit testing with pytest and system-wide testing.Partner with the team to create interactive data visualizations and reporting tools.Develop clear and comprehensive documentation for code, databases, and processes.Provide training and support to team members on advanced coding techniques, database management, and version control practices.What You Bring to the TableBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software development using Python and SQL.Strong object-oriented programming skills to write modular, reusable, and maintainable code.Expertise in automated testing frameworks like pytest and behave.Proficiency in data manipulation libraries like NumPy and Pandas.Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and SQL database design.Familiarity with software development methodologies like Waterfall, Scrum, and DevOps.Bonus Points for:Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure Pipelines).Scripting skills (shell, PowerShell, batch).Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse development (Kimball approach).Experience with specialized Python libraries (SQLAlchemy, DBT, Airflow/Luigi, Pandera).Proficiency in data visualization libraries (Plotly, Dash).Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI.Understanding of cloud-based microservice architectures (e.g., Azure).Strong documentation and technical writing skills.Why Join Us?Opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects that drive business insights.Collaborative and supportive work environment with a focus on continuous learning and innovation.Competitive salary and benefits package.Ready to Make a Difference?If you are a passionate developer with a data-driven mindset, we encourage you to apply Please submit your resume and a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and skills.Note:We removed unnecessary jargon and focused on clear, action-oriented language.We emphasized the business impact of the role and the collaborative work environment.We restructured the skills section to prioritize essential skills and highlight desired skills.
