Job Description Summary
Position Summary
You are responsible for providing solutions to customer needs and requirements in the field of industrial adhesive & sealants. Support sales of existing portfolio to meet customer needs.
This will be achievable through testing commercial available products or newly developed products under the supervision of the Manager for Global Industry
**Job Description**:
Position in Organization
- Reports to (Supervisor/Manager’s title): Manager, Global Industry R&D
- Direct Reports: No direct reports
- Department: R&D
- Location: Porto, Portugal
**Responsibilities**:
- Support the creation and implementation of customer specific projects.
- Hands-on lab work in the preparation and testing of adhesive & sealants formulations based on existing starting formulations.
- Support the update of test formulas regarding newer raw materials and market trends.
- Discussion and communication of project status and results to supervisor and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintaining a record of all lab project work in written English by using existing software and databases
- Support of the marketing department in preparation of promotional data for product launches, fairs and congresses.
- Support and guide quality, production and procurement departments under the supervision of the manager for Global Industry.
- Support technical training for commercial teams, distributors and customers by creating data, demonstration materials.
Decision making
- You will be guided by the manager in discissions related to experimental methodologies, formulation approaches.
- Recommends training content, testing approaches and methodologies.
- Higher level approval required for non-budgetary resourcing and expenditures.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Solid understanding of adhesive & sealant preparation and testing processes and methodologies for the adhesive & sealant segment
- Good scientific, analytical and reasoning skills
- Eager for knowledge and problem solving, “go-getter”
- Works well in team environment
Position Requirements
- Education: Required degree or vocational training.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in adhesive & sealants ( preparation and testing)
- IT Skills: Microsoft Office, Presentation software, Project management software, Desireable: JDE, Rheocompas
- Language Skills: fluent in spoken and written English, second language is beneficial (apart from Portuguese)
- Working arrangements: On site
- Traveling required: Max 10 % travel required
