What will you do:

- Lead a skilled multi-discipline cyber security team, ensuring the appropriate operating model is adopted.
- Attract & retain talent, leading the cyber security team to continually evolve & improve.
- Build strong relationships to support a collaborative and agile approach to achieving security goals, including internal squads, third party suppliers and managed services partners.
- Shape, build and adhere to security standards, methodology & principles.
- Committee to ensure security requirements & risks are considered.
- Produce and adhere to technical security design patterns & guardrails.
- Build, test & maintain cyber security systems and platforms, while helping decommissioning old systems. - Manage threats, detection, prevention, and threat hunting.
- Lead security solution selection, design production and commissioning within the Council, perform a role in Technical Design Authority across multiple technology areas delivering holistic security across technology stacks.

Essential Skills/Competencies
- Extensive experience in the cyber security field, and confident in investigations and security incident management.
- Certified in CISSP, CISM and familiarity with NIST Cyber Security Framework, PCI-DSS, ISO27001 and DPA/GDPR.
- A strategic thinker in cyber security, with strong technical IT and security skills.
- A background in leading high performing agile teams to drive cyber security through effective use of technology and innovation.
- Good understanding of log analysis and security investigations
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Have extensive knowledge across Cyber Security technologies within an Enterprise Architecture and proven track record of delivering multiple cross technology security solutions.
- Overall advanced English
