**Why iBET?**:
iBET is a private, non-profit biotechnology R&D institute working at the interface between academia and industry.

Our core areas are Biopharma and Food&Health. We develop processes and platforms for advanced gene and cell therapies, vaccines, and clinically relevant proteins, from R&D to Analytics and Tech-Transfer to GMP. We also explore innovative solutions to detect food fraud, water and food contaminations, and the identification of new bioactive food supplements.

We offer state-of-the-art R&D infrastructure for cellular bioengineering and biology research, including flow cytometry, cell sorting and microscopy, in addition to a Mass Spectrometry Unit and a Late-Stage R&D and Bioproduction Unit. With our new building, iBET Biofarma, we are expanding our research infrastructure with 30 new labs, including one BSL3, which will accommodate up to 100 new researchers.

**Admission requirements**:

- Academic degree - Master in Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biophysics, or related areas, with a minimum grade mark of 16/20;
- Proven experience in molecular biology including PCR, cloning, primer design and sequence analysis;
- Proven experience in manipulation of bacterial cultures (E.coli) as well as developing and conducting
protocols in protein expression and purification (E.coli);
- Desired expertise, but not required;
- Good command of English; excellent communication and documentation skills.

**Work plan**:
The project aims to develop an alternative protein scaffold (Display Library) that will generate high affinity binders through directed evolution against therapeutic targets within the scope of novel selective gene therapy methodologies.

**Fellowship Duration**:
The fellowship will have a duration of _6_ months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of October of 2023.
