Job Description Summary

The ESG specialist role is responsible for making complete and accurate ESG disclosures to 3rd party non-regulatory frameworks (such as Ecovadis, CDP, FTSE4Good) and supporting the Group in meeting regulated disclosures, especially for the UK and EU. Rigorous, factual, and complete disclosures result in representative ratings, indicate areas for strategic improvement, and enhance our reputation with investors and customers. The role is part-time and reports to the Global Sustainability Director.

**Responsibilities**:

- You project manage our disclosure activities for each framework, engaging across the business with leaders, specialists, and data owners to gather information. You monitor and prepare for changes in the framework requirements.
- You develop processes for improving our disclosure practices, identifying process improvements for engaging internally and understanding how well our previous disclosures met framework assessment requirements.
- Using learnings from the framework disclosure process and feedback, you identify and recommend actions for the business that could lower our ESG risks, create more positive impacts, or improve data monitoring. You contribute to decisions on any changes to service level we subscribe to.
- You execute and improve key internal processes for regulatory disclosures, such as those related to our climate change scenario risk analysis.
- You leverage your network across the business, with framework providers, and with external partners to identify best practices, resolve ambiguities, and ensure continuous improvement in disclosure quality.
- You lead multiple projects simultaneously, oversee project timelines and resources to deliver successful outcomes.
- You communicate the impact of disclosure to cross-functional teams to create engagement and proactivity regarding disclosure and transparency.

Decision making

You decide how best to organise and deliver a project to meet deadlines. You decide on how to track progress and how best to interpret requirements of a given framework. From the framework feedback / scoring, you decide what are the key improvement opportunities.

You work closely with the Global Sustainability Director throughout the different projects. Senior level review and approval of disclosures is obtained before final submission is made.

- Ensures accountability: You hold yourself and others accountable to meet organisational commitments, ensuring you have the support and engagement of your network and key contributors.
- Managing complexity: You are able to make sense, for yourself and others, of large amounts of complex, sometimes ambiguous information. You are able to use this information effectively in a framework disclosure.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate / Advanced understanding of key disclosure frameworks (such as Ecovadis, CDP, UNGC, FTSE4Good etc)
- Basic / Intermediate understanding of regulatory disclosures, such as ISSB, TCFD, CSRD.

Position Requirements
- Education: Degree-level education or equivalent years of experience. Professional sustainability qualifications / certifications / professional memberships are a bonus, but not required.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in making sustainability-related and/or technical disclosures in a relevant industrial sector organisation (examples sectors include - but are not limited to - chemicals, food, manufacturing, oil & gas, mining).
- IT Skills: Familiarity with MSOffic
