As a Data Analyst, you are responsible to gather, scrutinise and interpret data to get actionable insights for the company that helps to make decisions. You will respond to questions about data and look for trends, patterns and anomalies within it.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in statistics and the ability to convert data from a raw form to a different format (data munging), processes and applies statistical algorithms to structured data. The ideal person for this role should also have a keen sense of programming, machine learning and data visualization to effectively share the found insights in a clear manner. Analysts often deal with large data sets and need to have strong mathematical skills. You will require a high level understanding of programming languages too to run queries or to write scripts to perform required data operations.

In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. We are looking for someone with an engaging communication style with confidence in interpreting numerical information, and a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding the markets/clients.

A self-starter with an inquisitive nature and would want to look beyond the obvious to explore why things are there. Critical and conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills are essential alongside passion for data analysis and research.

Job Responsibilities
- Help build business case through gathering, understanding and documenting detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Deliver high quality insights by performing initial exploratory analysis to predict, measure and interpret business trends to be consumed by the data team
- Provide sector and competitor benchmarking and conduct research to identify and learn about key trends, market competitors, emerging concepts, practices and procedures within a particular industry or field
- Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the client’s business
- Prepare reports, data dashboards, graphs and visualisations for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools
- Support the business consultants by creating highly visual insights to aid storytelling and visualization for the clients
- Responding to data-related queries and keeping track of these
- Liaising with the clients, senior consultants and data team

Key Skills for a Data Analyst
- 1 to 2 years of working in a data analysis capacity
- Strong mathematical and statistical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyse data
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel and Python is mandatory, and MATLAB, R, SPSS, SAS is desirable
- Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation for both relational & non-relational database
- Cloud platforms experience preferably Azure particularly Data factory and storage
- Proficiency in data visualization software Tableau is mandatory, and Power BI or Qlik is desirable
- Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations

- Analytical mind and business acumen
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong maths skills (e.g. statistics, algebra, distributions, regression testing)
- Problem-solving aptitude is essential
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to learn and upgrade technical skills, in the fast-paced data analysis field
- Ability to understand and visualize multidimensionality of business facts/measures
- Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment within a geographically distributed team
