The GEM (Global Energy Management)

is an area of EDP SA and its mission is to coordinate the definition and implementation of pricing policies and new energy products (electricity and gas) in order to respond to the EDP Group's retail activity at the Iberian level, as well as the management of energy origination for this purpose, ensuring alignment with the group's strategic objectives in terms of commercial positioning and optimizing the use of its assets, as well as compliance with the legislation and regulations in force applicable to the activity of wholesale energy marketing and ensure the activity of purchase and sale of energy, fuel and CO2 financial products. We intend to recruit a Data Analyst - Energy Trading.

Main responsibilities:

- Collect and analyze data related to executions, volumes and market trends;
- Development of tools to visualize the executed analysis;
- Ability to analyze reports/presentations related to Commodities Markets and Area Trends;
- Execute the purchase and sale of energy, fuel and CO2 financial products - by operating in organized markets and/or bilateral/OTC for the purchase and sale of electricity, fuel and CO2 in order to implement the proprietary trading and hedging strategy defined by the GEM;
- Ability to have a fast adaptability to the market context: volatility, turbulence, regulatory changes and the change of the mix of products being traded;
- Counterparty relationship management.

Looking for people with the following requirements:

- Bachelor or Masters with Data Science focus (preferential);
- Maximum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar position;
- Programming skills (R and python);
- Notion of how financial markets work (preferably commodities) as well as available assets;
- Capacity of adaptation to fast changing environments;
- Notion of urgency and priority;
- Good cooperation skills with other teams;
- Detail oriented and problems solving skills;
- Good verbal and written communication skills with strong networking capability;
- Fluent English and Spanish is valued.
