Planning Technician

Our Fabrics Business Unit produces and delivers filtration fabrics for mining, chemicals, laundry, dry filtration and Pulp and Paper industries globally. Our offering helps the customer to increase productivity, achieve lower operating costs, save energy and improve quality.

We are looking for a Planning Technician to strengthen our planning team.

The role is based in Ovar, Portugal.

Your duties:
As a Planning Technician, your main responsibility is to make the connection between production and sales forecast. You have a key role to ensure high performance in operations, capacity utilization, transferring information from production to sales and stocks.

Mainly your duties include:

- Use production resources and sales forecast to do production plans and estimate the tools, equipment and resources needed to manufacture products.
- Evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads.
- Monitor production activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed meet production requirements.
- Adjust schedules to accommodate backlogs, design changes, and material or labor shortages.
- Prepare work orders for production or purchase requests based on production schedules.

What you need to be successful in the role:

- M.Sc/Bc. Degree in Engineering
- Preferably you have 2-3 years of experience in production planning or equivalent duties;
- Logical thinking with practical and hands-on attitude will help your daily work;
- Team player attitude to cooperate and build relationship in a matrix, multi-cultural, international environment and within the own team;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Experience from SAP ERP system is considered as an advantage;
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
