The Sovos Connect Once API is a central pillar of our global product strategy in the world of VAT compliance. API Contracts and proxies developed by you and your team will be used by internal stakeholders, external partners and some of the largest corporations in the world. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the continued evolution of our API suite across a wide range of countries and reporting regimes. You’ll be a central cog for implementing go to market strategies, as well as a point of contact for sales, customers, partners and other stakeholders across the organization.

The Connect Once API (COAPI) product owner is responsible for ensuring that market and product requirements are appropriately reflected and implemented in a finished product, the Sovos Connect Once API. The COAPI product owner is the main liaison between product marketing, product management and the engineering team. The COAPI product owner is an expert on the functionality of this specific product; as such, s/he will support groups such as sales engineering, implementation, and technical support/customer service.
- What are my responsibilities going to be, more specifically?_
- Main liaison between product management and the engineering team, understand the product strategy as defined by product management
- Collect product requirements from key audiences and end users
- Coordinate the creation of product mockups and prototypes
- Fulfills the ""product owner role"" principally responsible for prioritization and maintaining (or grooming) a backlog which maximizes outcomes aligned with the product strategy (roadmap) for one or multiple agile development teams
- Oversee and sign off on the functional spec
- Oversee the product as it is being built by development/engineering
- Communicate with stakeholders during the development of a product to keep them updated
- Coordinate testing of a product, including user acceptance testing, alpha and beta programs
- Collect, coordinate, and prioritize bug fixes

**What We Need From You**:

- 4+ years in related field
- 2+ years direct API product experience or demonstrable knowledge of API concepts and tools
- Experience in B2B SaaS business analysis or product development preferred
- Complete understanding of the ""Product Owner"" role
- Ability to balance gut feel judgement and logical analysis. Willingness to 'rip off the bandaid' and make decisions
- Able to mentor and advise other scrum teams and team members, especially on Product Owner role
- Ability to fulfill the ""Product Owner"" role effectively (maximizing outcomes per roadmap) without day-to-day support for multiple teams
