DevOps Database Administrator

La Redoute Portugal has an IT Engineering Center of more than 100 professionals whose goal is to build and continuously improve the digital platform powering La Redoute e-commerce activity for all the countries in which the La Redoute group operates.

We are looking for a **DevOps Database Administrator.**

**Context**

The DBA team is responsible for the management and support of the company Data asset for La Redoute globally, we manage over 400 databases across several datastore technologies. Our transformation roadmap aggressively accelerates our transformation to a DevOps approach to Data management, including the conversion from a traditional DBA management role to a DevOps DBA. We are adopting DBaaS and infrastructure as code practices while moving and transforming the existing perimeter to Cloud GCP and Azure while also integrating NoSQL technologies in our portfolio.

**What will you do?**

Your job will be managing the current systems, work on the migration projects, automate processes, improve database performance, and troubleshoot problems. You will have the opportunity to work in a diversify ecosystem with a high focus on pushing the envelope of other technologies like Redis, Kafka, Elastic Search, Kubernetes, among others.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and proactive team player with technical skills and cultural mindset to join our organization on this new endeavor.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, developers, architects and managers from different locations and ensure timely deliverables
- Implementation of DevOps practices and principles with focus on Infrastructure as a Code, Automation and Scalability.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases engines such as Postgres, MongoDB, MSSQL and MariaDB.
- Orchestrate system with high focus on resilience and high-availability of the databases.
- Evaluate and implement database technologies, tools and utilities.
- Analysis of resource usage, growth patterns and capacity planning for the database infrastructure.
- Ensure the level 2 and if applicable level 3 support for changes, requests and incidents in production environments and provide adequate response with possibility to participate in the on-call 24/7 support.
**Who are you?**
- 3-5 years in database administration in PostgresSQL
- 5+ years of support and operations experience with successful deliver track record
- Knowledge in SQL language and performance tuning
- Experience with broad landscape of database engines with resilience and high-availability
- Able to work with autonomy, proactivity, leadership, ownership, coordination and continuous improvement.
- Good presentation with excellent communication skills (written, listening and speaking), culture centered attitude, team work and highly motivated.
- English (fluent mandatory)/ French (comprehension appreciated)
**Additional assets/preferable skills**:

- PLSQL knowledge and Terraform experience will be highly valued
- MongoDB (or other nonrelational databases)
- SQLServer, Kubernetes and Kafka knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to learn new processes and technologies
- Autonomy and critical thinking with high focus on collaborative team environments
**Workplace type**: Hybrid - Remote most of the time with expected one visit to the office in Leiria per month, or more based on specific project needs
