**What's in it for you**:
The Platform Engineering function within Digital engineering provides a wide array of API and Microservices, which include identification & authentication, charging, location-based and self-service capabilities for multiple consumer and enterprise Customers Services around the world and Consumer/Enterprise IoT, Chatbot, AI capabilities and many more. We enable, orchestrate and expose our Digital Capabilities to third parties and Vodafone Services.
Our Platforms are hosted on cloud based infrastructure (AWS & Google), running 350+ APIs and processing millions of transactions per day. The monitoring relies on the latest and most innovative Analytics mechanisms and tools. Our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) aims to be fully automated, extremely simplified and reliable.

You will act as an API and solution designer supporting our Platform Engineering (API) scrum teams. You will design, provide new solutions, asses new tools and improve / asses our API estate. Within our agile teams you will work in close cooperation with our off
- shore Solution Designer, Systems Architect and Developers.

Your strong analytical, functional, technical, problem solving and communication skills are essential for this role, in order to gather information, align with the developers and technical leads & communicate with the stakeholders. You will strongly influence the governance of the evolution of our portfolio, ensuring the compliance with the technology and security golden rules. The role will strongly influence the evolution of our roadmap, ensuring the compliance of the globally defined standards within Vodafone. The API solution designer shall contribute to the analytics roadmap of Platform Engineering.

**What you'll do**:

- Analyse business challenges and technical issues and effectively communicates requirements and viable solutions
- Work in close cooperation with Microservice and API Designers and off-shore Technical Leads and Developers
- Identify the requirements from stakeholders across Vodafone and designs reliable, redundant and high performing API and MicroService designs and roadmap
- Express complex concepts in plain language to broad audiences
- Adhere to technical constraints defined by Architecture guidelines

**Who you are**:

- Technical Degree or equivalent working experience
- Proven working experience in large distributed & scalable architecture solutions
- Hands-on, with proven experience to be able to build their own proof of concepts
- Very good analytical and problem-solving attitude with the ability to quickly build credibility in teams
- Experience in Enterprise solutions and architectures (i.e. cloud, big data, virtualization, storage, etc.)
- Deep understanding of API (REST / SOAP) and API integration (including provisioning, login, charging, transaction and gateways).
- Strong knowledge in internet technologies such as GraphQL, JSON, XML, OAuth2, Java Script, Node JS, TDD, Clean Code and Clean Design
- Knowledge on Monitoring and Alarming Services, such as Instana, PagerDuty, AWS Cloudwatch, Datadog
- Familiar with Agile frameworks (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Very good/Fluent English skills
- Skilled in working with both local and remote stakeholders; skilled in working in multi-national and multi-location teams
