Compliance & Data Protection Officer

Working with the the Central Compliance team and the Data Privacy Officer, the Compliance Officer & Data Privacy Officer will be responsible for **data privacy matters** in Portugal as well as for **compliance matters** in Portugal.

The role includes advising the business leadership teams in Portugal on **Data Privacy and Compliance** risks facing the business and ensuring all the local projects follow and comply with such rules.
- All aspects of Data Privacy and Compliance matters that affect AXA Partners business in Portugal
- To work collaboratively with the central Compliance team, in particular the Head of Compliance of Inter Partner Assistance and the wider AXA Partners’ General Secretary team to ensure a One AXA approach and to help create an effective combined AXA Partners General Secretary team.

**Data Privacy**
- Adapt documentation from central team to local laws and local business requirements/activity;
- Provide or cascade the Central training on GDPR to all employees;
- Control the accuracy of the registers;
- Provide assessment in DPIA once pre-screening phase is completed by the project team;
- Assess data privacy topics and provide sign off for local projects/data processing;
- Negotiate data privacy clause in agreements (with vendors; partners;...);
- Manage local personal data breaches (point of contact to assess the breach in coordination with local and/or central business, security, IT teams; ensure that the breach is reported internally and to AP GDPO and central Risk Management team);
- Communicate with local data privacy authority (report of personal data breach or communication around any other request that requires local language and expertise).

**Compliance**
- Adapt documentation from central team to local laws and local business requirements/activity;
- Provide or cascade the Central training on Compliance policies to all employees;
- Support the commercial team on the Due Diligence Process and in particular on the deals that need to be validated by (local) Compliance;
- Support the local business teams and local legal counsels regarding the approval of exceptions to AXA France (CLP) and AXA Group Compliance Clauses in client agreements;
- Manage any Compliance breaches reports to be filled and sent out to Central Compliance Team;
- Prepare and fill all relevant data to the risk assessments that must be made, i.e. the Compliance Risk Assessment file and the Anti-Bribery & Corruption Risk assessment;
- Reply timely and adequately to any requests from Central Compliance Team;
- Performance of local regulatory watch & risk assessments;
- Respond to requests from Compliance team on roll out of policies;
- Local investigations or analysis as required by AXA Partners/IPA;
- Support closure of internal control and Internal audit items in their respective regions;
- Assist with closure of Internal Audit and Internal Compliance open items.

**Seu Perfil**
**Technical/ Functional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- 1-3 years working within Compliance, Audit or Risk teams of a regulated entity (insurance or banking industry);
- Ability to understand the business operation to oversee effectiveness of local compliance programs;
- Understanding of Insurance products and distribution models is a plus;
- MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel;
- Excellent writing skills, critical thinking and good analytical skills;
- Autonomy and ability to work in a transversal and multicultural environment.

**Language skills**
- Native Portuguese speaker with fluent English - mandatory.

**Personality and abilities**
- Development oriented and flexible person;
- Prioritization and a pragmatic approach to tasks;
- Ability to meet or exceed deadline, prioritise, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast changing environment;
- High level of personal integrity.

**Education, Professional Qualifications**
- Master or Bachelor degree in Law or Economics or equivalent experience.
