Como parte integrante da Estratégia de Inovação da Hovione, o Programa Doutoral
**Alternative Applications of Continuous Twin Screw Wet Granulation** foi criado, tendo-lhe sido atribuída uma bolsa de doutoramento em empresa (BDE).

**BOLSA A CONCURSO**

O presente concurso é aberto para uma Bolsa de Doutoramento em Empresa (BDE) com os termos e características constantes do artigo 6º do Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da FCT em vigor no ano de 2023.

Serás responsável por:
**PLANO DE TRABALHOS**

Hovione investment on a Continuous Twin Screw Wet Granulation (TSWG) added complementary capabilities to the batch and continuous process trains. The TSWG module is designed to add a liquid (typically water; with or without a binder) to granulate the input material, mostly comprised of a crystalline API.Taking advantage of the reduced residence time during granulation, the first objective of the thesis is to ascertain whether it is feasible to wet granulate SDD materials as an alternative to dry granulation. Wet granulation for SDDs would allow bypassing disadvantages associated with dry granulation, specifically the loss of compactability and generation of fines.The second objective of the thesis will be to explore TSWG as a method to to use liquid surfactants as binders both for the SDD and Crystalline Materials. The loading of excipients may also be explored to generate co-processed excipients.The third and last objective will be to test impregnation of mesoporous silica using the Twin Screws as an alternative method to the current standard of batch, solvent-based methods, with low throughput and large footprint.

**LOCAL DE TRABALHO**

A execução do programa terá lugar nas instalações da Hovione, em estreita colaboração com a Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Lisboa.

**ORIENTAÇÃO**

A orientação científica do programa caberá ao Professor João F. Pinto (Orientador Instituto) e Slavomira Doktorovová (Orientador Hovione).

**DURAÇÃO**

A bolsa a concurso tem a duração máxima de 4 anos, é concedida em regime de tempo integral sendo atribuída anualmente, por períodos de 12 meses sucessiva e automaticamente renováveis, exceto se nos termos da legislação aplicável o bolseiro não cumprir os deveres que lhe são impostos. A bolsa tem início previsto em
**setembro de 2023**, em regime de exclusividade.

**AVALIAÇÃO**

Os métodos de seleção a utilizar serão os seguintes:
- Nível de Inglês;
- Carta de motivação;
- Entrevista.

Cada item será valorizado numa escala de 0-20, com a seguinte ponderação:
_Curriculum vitae_ e experiência (40%), inglês (10%), carta de motivação (10%) e entrevista (40%).
