**Job Description**:
As a member of the QA Department, the QA Location Lead will report to the QA Department Lead and will be involved in carrying out analysis, design and creation of tests and resolving system problems in a fast-paced environment.
**Main **Responsibilities**:
- Deal with assignments that include moderately complex areas of the product.
- Plan, estimate & execute work that includes interdependent tasks for the project.
- Carry out analysis, design, and building of tests.
- Exercise tests whereby recording results formally.
- Identify & report defects.
- Report on testing status and results.
- Be part of a team of functional, automation, and security QA engineers.
- Attend 1:1 meetings with the Line Manager.
- Attend team and/or project meetings.
- Gain knowledge of the system(s), processes, and procedures from more experienced team members.
- Carry out static testing of Requirements and various testing artifacts.
- Work with the team and define test entry, test suspension, test resumption, and test exit criteria.
- Support your team in the System/System Integration Testing & Acceptance Testing phases for software deliverables.
- Participate in the QA community to coordinate, standardize and improve QA practices across the business.
- Own the QA activities during the deployment of software changes to testing, staging, and production environments.
- Own the QA aspects of ‘Emergency’ releases, which may include out-of-hours work in case of critical business needs.
- Support your team with the test preparation and test execution estimates.
- Ensure that the regression test pack is maintained and software changes or enhancements are communicated effectively following software releases.
- Identify opportunities to increase or reduce release scope in order to ensure projects remain on track for target completion dates.
- Assess product usability and reliability and provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to the QA team.
- Participate in multiple concurrent projects upon request, offering Quality Assurance services across a number of projects.
- Coordinate with customer support, operations, and software development staff.
- Perform other duties, as asked by the manager, which are related to this position and which meet the qualifications.
- Replace colleagues during their vacations, sick leaves, and other absences. Replacement takes place during working time, and it is not considered additional work.
- Participate in recruitment activities.
- Supervise, train, and mentor newcomers and other QA engineers.
- Set objectives and participate in the personal development of other QA engineers.
- Maximize output and efficiency of the QA department.
- Evaluate the performance of direct subordinates.
- Provide guidance and support in the area of competence.
- Resolve conflicts and help to come up with solutions
**Qualifications**:
- Academic or professional bachelor’s degree in Information Technologies or a related field, or relevant work experience in a matching position
- Excellent knowledge of English
- High sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- 2 or more years of QA experience
- Experience with Agile or iterative software development methodologies
- Good knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of the importance of user experience and browser compatibility issues
- Proficiency in static testing
