**The Logistics Specialist** is responsible for managing logistics activities in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services as well as providing logistics support, consulting, finding optimal modes and ways of transportation, and obtaining the best possible transportation rates.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Route cargo** by legal and customer requirements
- **Coordinate the routing process**:

- Proactive approach to** issue resolution **and shipment responsibility
- Possible **preparation of a preliminary packing list **in order to provide the client with the preliminary information regarding the project cargo-specific to one business
- Actively use either Allyn Logistics Application (ALA) or Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or other required systems
- Accurately **issue shipping documentation** such as certificates of origin, customs invoices and packing lists, and certificates of insurance
- **Communication **with freight forwarders, shippers, consignees, clients, and internal communication within the team
- Contracting External Logistics Service Providers for route & port surveys
- **Transport regulations compliance management**, including permitting, over-dimensional and hazardous cargo
- Monitoring and tracking the shipments and keeping client informed about the status
- **Capture all costs** associated with a shipment
- Actively look and capture savings opportunities and added value opportunities when possible
- Track and resolve** freight claims**:

- Provide excellent customer service to Allyn customers
- Training for newcomers, internal team members, or external customers/suppliers if needed

**Education & Requirements**:

- Fluent in English
- Portuguese is a plus
- Secondary school or University degree - specialization in Logistics preferred
- **International logistics experience **in transportation, customs, warehousing, and supply chain principles
- Knowledge of International Trade & Management
- Knowledge of **legal & customs regulations**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within the team
- Stress resistant
- Project management skills
