We are seeking to hire our EMEA Customs Team Leader at Faurecia for our regional business services center in Porto. In your role as department manager, you will have the responsibility to lead and supervise a Customs team of up to 6 people.

You will be expected to manage, control and lead all the customs operations activities of the Group in the EMEA region, and to deliver optimal operations performance (centralization of the customs classification, preference management, etc.). One of the objectives of the role is to lead a high performing regional customs delivery team in executing high quality, cost-efficient, and compliant customs operations.

With the purpose of achieving such a goal, the role engages in daily interactions with custom brokers, freight forwarders and other external entities in the region to ensure the flow of goods.

**Responsibilities**
- Craft Customs strategy in line with region’ business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines and policies.
- Lead planning and implementation of Customs plans, measures and budgets to achieve customs operational results.
- Lead fulfilment of Customs requirements for the import/ export and trans-shipment of packages and documents in a time sensitive environment, in the countries of the region.
- Devise and lead achievement of high standards of operational quality throughout Customs clearance process, data quality and support functions.
- Monitor the Customs operations team to optimize productivity and drive cost control.
- Consistently deploy effective people management, cost control planning innovation and communication in order to achieve high internal-customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with Customs authorities and other governmental bodies in the region on operationally related questions.
- Overview and manage Customs brokerage operation performance.
- Start and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and present Customs brokerage KPI metrics.
- Retrieve import documentation for audits and address document retention exemptions with customs brokers.
- Assist the companies of Faurecia in the region to achieve AEO certification

**Who You Are**

You will have strong written and verbal language skills in English (French is a plus). A proven track record in working with authorities to help drive change and address challenges.

At a minimum, we expect you to have 10 years’ experience delivering dynamic solutions within a foreign-trade and/or logistics role, as well as strong knowledge and demonstrated skills and experiences in all areas of Import/Customs compliance.

In addition, we expect you to have a proven leadership experience with the ability to:

- Motivate others.
- Make decisions and demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Lead a team by mentoring and coaching.
