**What are we looking for?**

We are recruiting a Medical Scientific Manager for ViiV Healthcare reporting to the Medical Director in Portugal.

**Job Purpose**: Medical Scientific Managers are scientists with in-depth knowledge of the HIV therapeutic area and ViiV medicines. They ensure the implementation of the medical affairs strategy to support the business plan and conduct relevant medical affair activities within compliance, ethical standards, company procedures and legislation.

They provide non-promotional scientific engagement with HCPs to ensure the safe and appropriate use of ViiV products.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide medical-scientific and technical support about ViiV medicines to advise and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Market Access, Sales Force and other members of cross-functional teams (including medical-scientific internal training, participating in cycle meetings and actively participating as a core member of Brand teams). Support for commercial activities, including promotional meetings with presentations, development and approval of promotional materials, HCP engagement for ViiV sponsored promotional meetings with external speakers, providing speaker training including Medical Governance training for paid speaker promotional events.
- Interact and build peer-to-peer relationships with external experts, HCPs, including opinion leaders, HIV-treating physicians, virologists, nurses and hospital pharmacists. Identify medical audience (strategically map, identify, profile and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and goals)
- Conduct Scientific Engagements to provide updated medical-scientific information about ViiV medicines based on clinical trial data, scientific literature and peer-reviewed evidence to Healthcare professionals, respond to HCPs’ questions and address their scientific enquiries about ViiV medicines, including approved products and products in development. Conduct insight seeking interactions with HCPs to inform medical strategy and contribute to commercial strategy. Conduct Medical Affairs events, including Advisory board meetings and scientific engagement Workshops
- Liaise with above country team in order to effectively implement at local level the medical plan and activities of the different ViiV products. (Medical product lead)
- Participate in the design and implementation of the Local Medical Plan aligned with ViiV strategy.
- Support ViiV R&D clinical research for ViiV portfolio: provide support to the local CRO, CRA and clinical research teams including evaluation of the clinical trial proposal, study site and investigator selection, study initiation, participating in study conduct team meetings, monitoring of recruitment and study closure. Provide support for study proposals and internal approval of Investigator Sponsored Studies aligned with the ViiV Evidence Generation Plan. Provide support for Named Patient Program for ViiV medicines when applicable.

**Basic Qualifications and Experience**
- Strong Scientific background MD, PharmD, PhD or other health/ life-sciences
- Key cross-functional collaboration with Local Operating Company and EU/Above Country medical and commercial teams.
- Excellent project management skills, results-oriented, innovative mindset and proactivity.
- Fluent Portuguese & English, verbal and written

**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**
- Relevant experience in Medical Affairs
- Solid scientific background in HIV therapeutic Area
- Competencies; includes digitally savvy, strong communicationskills, clinical research insights, business and market knowledge.
- Strong Teamworking and relationship building skills.
